Our story
Rekados started as an idea between two friends — John Rey Tampus, a business entrepreneur, and Norell Mantilla, a software developer. It was John Rey who first asked the question: “What if we build an app we could use ourselves — and that could help others too, especially business owners and people who find it hard to shop for the exact ingredients they need for what they want to cook?”
Because cooking isn't as simple as handing someone a list of ingredients. So what if, instead, you just picked the dish you're craving — and we handed you exactly the ingredients for it, with the option to leave out anything you don't want? Wouldn't that be so much better?
Back then the idea didn't push through — there was no funding, not enough time, and no feasibility study to prove it would take off. But today, with online shopping part of everyday life and stores now easy to discover and reach online, the timing finally feels right. Rekados is that idea, brought to life.
